🎬 RM's favorite K-Drama, Movie, and Web Series
1. Sweet Home – Netflix
This popular Netflix K-drama stars Song Kang and stretches through three engrossing seasons. The show is about a troubled teenager and his neighbors trying to stay alive in the company of blood-curdling monstrous creatures-anywhere between action and humanity.
2. La La Land – Amazon Prime Video
La La Land, a romantic musical starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, concerns itself with love, ambition, and sacrifice set against Hollywood. They say it has to be seen for its breathtaking cinematography and unforgettable musical score while being a bitter sweet memory for RM.
3. SKY Castle – Netflix, Viki
SKY Castle is a piercing satire of the South Korean competitive educational system that throws us into the lives of privileged families ambitious for success. Strong performances and absorbing storytelling make it a great watch and a canvas for pondering.
4. Decision to Leave – Prime Video, Mubi
Directed by Park Chan-wook, RM conveys having found a near-perfect romantic thriller and having watched the film five times. It received Best Director at Cannes and is a very strong statement with its masterful intermingling of mystery, longing, and Hitchcock-style suspense.
5. Extraordinary Attorney Woo – Netflix
This show funnily and happily stars Park Eun-bin as Woo Young-woo, a brilliant lawyer with autism. The show is inspiring, emotional, and widely hailed for its positive representation.
6. Parasite – SonyLIV
A dark glissando of humor and suspense in the class division story by Bong Joon Ho, the Academy Award-winning masterpiece Parasite. Parasite was the first non-English-language film to win the coveted Best Picture award at the Oscars.
7. The Fortress – Prime Video, Apple TV
This historical drama takes place during the 1636 war and depicts the siege of a mountain fortress. Director Hwang Dong-Hyuk (of Squid Game fame) with Lee Byung-hun and Go Soo put together a deeply moving film, according to RM.
8. The Dark Knight Trilogy – JioCinema
Christopher Nolan's cinematic flicks of Batman, featuring Christian Bale, delve into themes of justice, chaos, and sacrifice in Gotham City. Featuring infamous villains like the Joker, RM recommends this stark, dark cinematic superhero saga.
